Regulation
Luminvestry operates within the regulatory framework of the United Kingdom governing services connected with digital assets and other financial instruments, including applicable national requirements for client onboarding, identity verification, the safeguarding of personal data and the handling of complaints.
The table below summarises the framework applicable to each area of our activity and the basis on which we operate within it.
Registration and regulatory oversight in the United Kingdom
| Jurisdiction | Regulator | Registration / regulatory basis |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom, financial services | Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) | Complies with applicable UK regulatory requirements for client onboarding, identity verification, data protection and complaint handling under the FCA framework. |
| United Kingdom, anti-money laundering | UK anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework | Complies with applicable UK requirements for customer due diligence, ongoing monitoring and suspicious activity reporting. |
| United Kingdom, dispute resolution | Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) | Complies with applicable UK requirements for internal complaint handling and signposting to the established external dispute-resolution route. |
Transparency in matters of regulation
Luminvestry maintains the registrations, permissions and compliance procedures required for the services it provides in each relevant jurisdiction, and reviews them as its activity evolves. Where a service is provided with a licensed partner, that partner's details are disclosed to you during onboarding and confirmed in writing before you deposit.
Deposits and scheme coverage
Cash deposits with an authorised firm may be eligible for protection under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), subject to its rules and limits. Crypto and other digital assets are generally not covered by the FSCS. Scheme coverage depends on the arrangements of the firm holding the money, and eligibility is never a reason to invest more than you can afford to lose.
Questions about the regulatory position of your account are answered directly by the compliance desk at [email protected], and the compliance contact for verification matters is listed on the AML and KYC page.
